Dope. A Straight shot to the blood stream, of pure unadulterated Hip Hop. ManeLine has played a ground breaking role in Colorado Hip Hop since it's inception in late 2005-constantly opening for and amazing acts such as Gnarls Barkley, Tha Pharcyde and
Wu-Tangs Gza among a laundry list of others.
In March of 2007, ManeLine accomplished what would seem like the impossible in their "rock-town" of Denver, by being the first real Hip Hop Group(aka no live band-just 2 turntables and microphones) to grace the cover of Village Voice Medias-Westword. They would also boast the title for the states largest Hip Hop CD release party with well over 800 people in attendance thru the night.
MC Mane Rok-a Colo. native-had been making noise on the local scene since the late 90's, whether thru winning local battles or shows with his previous outfit-Ideal Ideologies. Having captured the attention of Westword music editor at this time for his battle prowess, Mane Rok continually caught mentions in articles involving Hip Hop in Co. until 2005, when he was invited to play in Westwords annual Music showcase-all well not being considered a performing "solo" MC. This year would also see his crew, known as LIFE Crew, nominated as a whole with one of their DJ's as well-(DJ Thought of Crunk Brothers and Basementalism Radio 1190am.) In 2007, ManeLine would also be nominated to perform-losing to their crew members
The Pirate Signal. Another notable feat, Mane Rok was chosen as a finalist in CYpress Hills-BReal's new label contest looking for new talent.
DeeJay Tense of Radio 1190 Basementalism and battle champs Crunk Bros. fame, is yet another reason ManeLine has wowed crowds at shows from all over. Tense, a seasoned battle turntablist, put the finishing touches on the group with his amazing turntable dexterity which would be constantly showcased at his weekly club nights and on the radio all the same.
Producer/MC InkLine plays the foundation for the group. Not only being considered "prolific" for his production work for the groups 2007 release "Till Then...", InkLine plays recording engineer and is applauded for his spectacular laid back flow-playing the perfect match for Mane's forceful, rip-your-throat-out vocals.
The group continues to break down doors in Colorado in hopes that the world finally takes a peak in. Surrounded by rocks and a hard place, ManeLine knows that the only place left to look is.....up.
